The Best Job in the World

Is a government consulting contract. Several years ago, when I was the San Diego Sierra Club's sewage expert, a San Diego engineering consultant charged the city hundreds of thousands dollars to produce a report on the city's sewage treatment alternatives. Their report simply repackaged something the same company had written 20 years earlier.

The Air Force is spending $450,000 to study blogs. A preliminary discovery, "[blogs] are typically short and are about something external to the blog posting itself, such as a news event." Let me save the Air Force some money. The final report will say,
You can find every imaginable opinion somewhere in a blog. If the government does something stupid it will find its way around the world in a matter of hours.

I think the report would say that blogs are mostly opinions and personal information. Anyone who doesn't take a blog with a grain of salt is not employing critical thinking skills.
