Trump's carnival of lies has switched to voting with his unsubstantiated claim that "three to five million illegals" voted against him. When asked for proof, his press spokesman said that the proof is in the fact that Trump believes it to be so.

This dovetails nicely with Trump's racial purity belief that all American citizens of Mexican descent are here illegitimately. Trump has said there are 30 million people in this country illegally; the number of Americans with Mexican heritage is 33.7 million, according to the Census Bureau.

In Trump's "Art of the Lie," anything he wishes to believe trumps every fact. In Trump's world the only fact that matter is whatever he believes at the moment.

To Trump, truth is fungible. Facts are a burden. When the people abandon their desire for proof and facts their lives will become easier. When the beliefs of the one leader replaces the multilayered truths of the populous, then unity will be achieved.

Believe in truth. To abandon facts is to abandon freedom. If nothing is true, then no one can criticize power, because there is no basis upon which to do so. If nothing is true, then all is spectacle. The biggest wallet pays for the most blinding lights. ~ Timothy Snyder
